“I’m not dead”
…and what the DC press corps can learn from Zimbabwe
In the last month, I’ve been touched to hear from listeners who say they miss listening to me on the air in the afternoons. I’ve also met some people who’ve said they miss waking up to me every morning. Not sure what’s going on there, but I’ll let it go.
With those folks in mind, today I’m sharing an opportunity to listen to me talk some more. I did this interview live on stage the other day in Denver, answering questions from Ryan Warner, the fabulous host of Colorado Matters on Colorado Public Radio.
We had this conversation at the Denver Press Club’s annual gala, where I was honored with the Damon Runyon Award. (For more on that, you can read last week’s post.) Our chat gets into what I look for in a good story, my advice for the DC press corps, and what I plan to do next.
Apologies that I can’t figure out how to embed the audio file in this post, but you can listen to our full conversation here.
And here are a few more images from the event, thanks to photojournalist Evan Semón.

Next week I’m heading to California to perform my solo cabaret show “Thank You For Listening” in Santa Cruz and Modesto. I hope to see some of you in the audience!

I’m a big Ryan Warner fan (love his use of socks). And a huge fan of you. I no longer live in Denver, so don’t hear Colorado Matters regularly, but I’ll seek out this interview.
